Your role

As you start your Accenture career, you'll want to understand how your role aligns to our global structure.

Your home within Accenture will be described as the combination of your Market and Business Area. Our Markets are North America, Growth Markets, and Europe.

We further separate locations by market units. Market Unit or 'MU' is the specific geography in which your home office is located within our three Markets.

Your role will align with one of our six business areas and will include custom training, staffing and transition opportunities, along with mentors and colleagues who do similar work.

Once you've joined us and get comfortable in your role, discuss your career vision with your people lead, supervisor or mentor to come up with development and growth actions. They'll help you discover progress options like promotion opportunities and role movement within Accenture that compliment your skills and strengths. Ask yourself - do you have a vision for your career?

Accenture's career development program is called Performance Achievement. All people at every level participate in real-time, forward-looking coaching discussions to help understand expectations and areas of growth, apply your strengths, and achieve career aspirations. From these conversations, you'll be empowered to define more specific steps for the next stage of your career.

When it comes to taking action to develop your career, you are in charge. Accenture will provide you with tools and opportunities to help. We encourage coninuous learning through our online portal, myLearning, to help you build specialized skills. We provide collaboration tools like our internal Knowledge Exchange (KX), support you building your network, and even push you to take advantage of learning opportunities outside of Accenture.
